Britbots is a specialist provider of SEIS and EIS funds investing in productivity-maximising automation, robotics and artificial intelligence technologies.

Our focus on automation derives from our recognition of three core productivity crises which both economies and companies are currently experiencing and which are worsening as global consumption levels continue to rise:

  1. Labour crisis: Global employment growth has declined by 90% over the last 50 years
  2. Environmental crisis: Humans are using natural resources 70% faster than ecosystems can regenerate
  3. Productivity crisis: Global productivity growth has not increased over the last 50 years

We invest in automation technologies because they allow scarce resources to go further; allowing outputs to grow or stabilise whilst reducing inputs.

As these three core productivity crises continue to worsen, and the building blocks for automation technology continue to become less expensive and more abundant, we believe that adoption of automation technologies will continue to accelerate and that companies developing technologies in this area will generate enduring returns.

Britbots focuses its investments on two main areas of automation technology:

  1. Investing in physical world automation: through robotics and data collection and analytics (e.g. IOT devices); and
  2. Investing in digital world automation: through software (e.g. enterprise resource planning) and machine learning (e.g. robotic process automation).

We currently have two fund offerings investing in earlier stages start-ups qualifying for the Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) tax reliefs and scale up opportunities for slightly more mature companies qualifying for Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS) tax reliefs.

* EIS & SEIS are schemes operated by HMRC to provide tax-incentives to encourage people to invest in high growth businesses.  More information is available on the HMRC website
